AJ’s journey after Jesuit Academy is rooted in the lessons he first learned as a student in the Class of 2017. During his years at JA, AJ developed the skills, values, and sense of purpose that continue to guide him in both his education and career today.
“Jesuit taught me many life and social skills that helped me going into high school,” AJ shared. “Time management, accountability, discipline, and respect are all things I still remember learning when going into the real world.”
AJ remembers Jesuit as a place built on strong relationships and lasting friendships. One of his favorite memories is Summer Camp 2016, an experience that left a lasting impression and strengthened the bonds he formed with his classmates. To AJ, the friendships he built at Jesuit remain one of the most important parts of his experience and continue to influence his life today.
After graduating from Jesuit Academy, AJ attended Creighton Prep, where he graduated in 2021. He went on to study social work at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln and the University of Nebraska Omaha. Carrying forward the skills and values he developed at Jesuit, AJ found his calling in working directly with students.
Today, AJ serves as a teacher assistant at an alternative school, where he supports students by building relationships, providing guidance, and helping them navigate challenges both inside and outside the classroom. His work reflects his long standing goal of making a meaningful impact on the youth in his community.
Looking ahead, AJ hopes to continue serving students in leadership roles such as a counselor, Dean of Students, or principal. When reflecting on his journey so far, AJ says his greatest accomplishment has been making his family proud.
AJ also shared words of encouragement for current Jesuit students. To incoming fourth graders, he says, “Welcome! You’re about to have such an amazing 4th grade year! Ask as many questions as you can and be as curious as possible. You got this!” To eighth graders preparing for their next step, he offers this advice: “Be generous, look forward to overcoming obstacles, try new things, and believe in yourself.”
Jesuit Academy helped AJ develop the skills and character needed to succeed both in and beyond the classroom. Today, he continues to live out those lessons through his work, his relationships, and his commitment to being a Man for Others.
