Raheem, Class of 2018

Raheem Briggs graduated from Jesuit Academy in 2018 and Omaha Central High School in 2022. He earned his Associates Degree in Art from South Arkansas Community College in 2024 where he played collegiate basketball for two years. Currently a junior continuing his education and basketball career at Campbellsville University on a full-ride scholarship, Raheem will graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science in 2026.

Throughout his time at Jesuit Academy, Raheem had been coined by faculty and staff as an outgoing student, often serving as the center of attention among his peers. He thrived in school academically, and his energy fired up those around him. Although our Principal, Mr. Murray, didn’t have the opportunity to teach Raheem in 4th grade when he started his teaching career at JA, he described Raheem has a young man who came to school each day with a smile on his face. Outside of his academic success, Raheem would be observed freehanding drawings and creating fun comic book-style artwork.

When asked about his time at JA, he shared how much of an impact his teachers bestowed upon him and his brothers. Raheem’s favorite teachers were Mr. Franklin and Mr. Butler. Even though students originally viewed their demeanor as straightforward and strict at times, he came to understand as he got older that his teachers were trying to instill the Jesuit core values and demonstrate how to be a “Graduate at Graduation,” being Open to Growth, Academically Excellent, Religious, Loving, and Committed to Justice.

The future is bright for Raheem. When he completes his studies at Campbellsville University and obtains his degree, his plan is to pursue law school in order to become a lawyer specializing in the Sports Entertainment industry. There is no doubt in our minds that Raheem will continue to work hard and achieve his goals. His determination is something powerful to witness. We are so proud of his accomplishments thus far and will remain in his corner for the many accomplishments to come!

His advice for our current JA students:

"If someone tells you you can't accomplish something you know within yourself that you can, use it as motivation and never discredit your belief in yourself. It makes the finished work that much more sweet."
