Saturday's rain didn't stop Creighton Students Union from raising $8,180 for Jesuit Academy through the 15th Annual Jaywalk 5k Fun Run! Many thanks to all who participated in the event, which included a pancake feed following the run/walk. Thank you to our friends from the Creighton Preparatory School football team who joined in the festivities!

On Monday, Jesuit Academy 6th - 8th graders traveled to Tecumseh to view the total solar eclipse. In collaboration with other Catholic schools in the Omaha area, they participated in activities at various stations to learn more about the eclipse. The day was pretty spectacular - we hope you were able to enjoy this unique experience! Jesuit Academy students celebrated the start of the new school year with Mass of the Holy Spirit. Mass of the Holy is celebrated around the world by Jesuit schools and is a tradition that began in 1548. Area and perimeter are two math topics that are no match for our Jesuit Academy fourth graders - Mr. Murray is very creative in finding ways for his students to be engaged in their school work. Great job Mr. Murray! On Monday, May 16, the community gathered together to celebrate the accomplishments of the Class of 2017. Of the twelve young men in the class, six will be attending Creighton Prep in the fall, two will attend Roncalli, three will attend Central, and one will attend Burke. Following the graduation ceremony, dinner was held for all graduates and their guests at Jesuit Academy. We are very proud of their accomplishments! As part of PE, the 5th grade class spent the last four weeks participating in ice skating lessons at Grover Ice. On each Wednesday in April, the class traveled to the ice rink for a Learn to Skate program. By the end of the four weeks, every student was up on skates and comfortable skating independently. To celebrate the end of the lessons, students also had the opportunity to play broom ball. We are grateful to our friends at Grover Ice for their wonderful work with the young men of Jesuit Academy! Find out more about Grover Ice at http://groverice.com/. Spiritual formation is an important part of the educational journey at Jesuit Academy, offering opportunities for fellowship, faith sharing, and self-reflection. The 5th grade recently participated in a retreat at Jesuit Academy's camp, with the theme of Prayer For Generosity. Thank you to everyone who visited Jesuit Academy this afternoon for the STEM Fair! Please enjoy the pictures from the event. Please join Jesuit Academy for this year's STEM Fair! Over 45 projects and demonstrations will be on display on Thursday, April 6, from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM in the Jesuit Academy gym. Family and friends are welcome.
Earlier this month, Jesuit Academy students were treated to a visit from Justice Clarence Thomas of the United States Supreme Court. After speaking about his childhood, educational journey, faith, and the importance of preparation to achieve one's goals, students were able to ask Justice Thomas questions. Following the question and answer session, students were able to meet Justice Thomas. Jesuit Academy is incredibly grateful to Creighton University for arranging this unique opportunity for the young men of Jesuit Academy. |
