Jesuit Academy is pleased to present the graduation of 14 students from 8th grade. On Monday, May 19, graduation ceremonies were held at Jesuit Academy to recognize the academic accomplishments of the 8th grade class. Family and friends of the graduates filled the commons area of the school for an evening of reflection and celebration. After President Fr. Tom Neitzke, SJ and Principal Troy Wharton welcomed the group, eighth grader William Worthington served as the Master of Ceremonies. Tyler Welchen provided the commencement address to the graduates and those in attendance, speaking about his time at Jesuit and the education the school has provided to him and his classmates. Pastor Josh Dotzler then addressed the crowd, encouraging graduates to always be at their best because that is when they will find success. It was a strong message that is sure to be carried with the graduates. The eighth graders then presented a rose to their mothers and grandmothers in attendance, allowing for much deserved recognition of their roles in each of the students’ lives. Following the awarding of the diplomas, dinner and dessert was served to all those in attendance. Beginning this fall, six Jesuit Academy graduates from the Class of 2014 will attend Roncalli Catholic High School, four will attend Creighton Prep, three will attend Burke High School, and one will attend Central High School.
