Jesuit Academy Students Recognized at Honors Assembly

Students at Jesuit Academy were recently recognized for their academic and citizenship performance during the second quarter/first semester at an awards ceremony in the school commons area.  Those who attend Jesuit Academy are guided by the Catholic principles and five basics of Jesuit education:  Gospel values, academic excellence, self-discipline, religious diversity and the concept of “Men for Others.”  Jesuit Academy also prepares its graduates socially and spiritually for a lifetime of leadership and acceptance into a college preparatory curriculum. 

Academic honors are divided into two categories:  First Honors for students with a 3.5 and above GPA and Second Honors for 3.2-3.49 GPA.  Citizenship honor roll recognizes behavior accomplishments.  Congratulations to the 17 students who achieved academic honors:  (first honors)  Sean Griffin and Jamari Richards, fourth grade; Carl Brown, TJ Griffin and Nasire Perry, fifth grade; Lee Turner, sixth grade; Tyler Welchen, seventh grade; Jordan Flowers and Kaz Nicholson, eighth grade;  (second honors) Lee Brown, Caleb Dean, Sean Griffin, Saleem Muhammad, Jamari Richards and KeShaun Washington, fourth grade;  Isiaah Clark, fifth grade; Jerome Glass, Daevier Kellogg and Henry Lewis, sixth grade. 

The following 12 students earned citizenship honors for their exemplary behavior during the first semester:  Justin Bryson and Jamari Richards, fourth grade;  Isiaah Clark and Corey Trigg, fifth grade; Lee Turner, sixth grade; Kyree Ellebb, Alejandro Rodriguez and Tyler Welchen, seventh grade and Eduardo Aguilar, Jordan Flowers, Tony Hall and Jashen Wade, eighth grade. 

Daily attendance levels at Jesuit Academy remain in the 90-percent and above range. Congratulations to the following 12 students who earned Perfect Attendance Honors for the first semester:   Justin Bryson, Jamari Richards and KeShaun Washington, fourth grade; 
Dylan Holston, fifth grade; Brian Baker, Jerome Glass and Darryl York, sixth grade; Janaeco Richards and Alejandro Rodriguez, seventh grade and Eduardo Aguilar, Jy’ion Berry and
Jashen Wade, eighth grade. 

The following students were also honored with the “Men for Others” award for the second quarter:  Lee Brown, Isiaah Clark, Henry Lewis, Tyler Welchen and Jyion Berry.  The award, which is in its second year at Jesuit Academy, recognizes one student per grade, per quarter, for effectively demonstrating attributes of the “Graduate at Graduation” – a staple in Jesuit education:   Open to Growth, Intellectually Competent, Committed to Justice, Loving and Religious.
