Students, faculty and staff at Jesuit Academy recently collected over 400 food items for the Heart Ministry Center – surpassing the goal of 200 items. A mix of canned, packaged and dry goods were boxed up and delivered by the eighth grade class prior to dismissal for Thanksgiving break.
The food drive, which was held November 1-20, is just one example of Jesuit Academy students being “Men for Others” as they participate in the schools monthly service project. Past projects included: assisting a family in New Orleans affected by Hurricane Isaac in September and volunteering at the Heart Ministry Center in October. In addition, all eighth graders are required to submit 40 hours of service work prior to graduation in May.
