Fourth Grade Farm Field Trip

On September 24, Mr. Pick's fourth grade class went on a field trip to the Pick Family Farm in LeMars, Iowa, to learn about the Fall Harvest.  Students were able to see a combine unload into a grain cart and the grain cart unload into a semi-truck.  Students also had the opportunity to go on combine rides with the senior Mr. Pick and learn more about farming from Mr. Pick's uncle.  Following the combine activities, the young men visited the hogs and roamed around an empty corn bin.  The students were treated to a "Pick-nic" style lunch, courteous of Mr. Pick's parents. 

On the way back to school, Mr. Pick surprised the students by stopping at "The Ice Cream Parlor." Le Mars is home to  the famous Wells Blue Bunny brand and known as "the Ice Cream Capital of the World."  Each young man received a HUGE cone and were able to tour the building.
