Prior to Christmas break, Jesuit Academy 5th and 6th grade students participated in a Martin Luther King, Jr. poster and essay contest between several schools in the North Omaha area. The students were given the challenge to create a work that represented Dr. King's dream of changing the world through non-violence. The 5th grade did so through posters, while the 6th grade did so through essays. We're pleased to report that Jesuit Academy 5th grader Corben won first place in the poster contest and Jesuit Academy 6th grader Steven won first place in the essay contest! Both were presented with their awards by Fr. Hendrickson, President of Creighton University, at an MLK celebration Monday evening at Creighton University. A big congratulations to these two young men!

Check out our 7th graders! They are on their way to attend President Obama's speech at Baxter Arena today - what a wonderful opportunity for their Civics curriculum to come to life. Thoughts and reflections on the visit to follow!
Pizza, pizza, pizza! Today was Men for Others lunch day. Each quarter, one young man from each grade is selected as the Men for Others award winner, the person in each grade who best exemplifies the Jesuit Academy mission and the Graduate at Graduation pillars. Students enjoyed lunch at Mama's Pizza with President Mr. Hoy and Principal Mr. Wharton. Congrats gentlemen!
