Glenn E. Mitchell Jr. is Principal of Jesuit Academy, effective July 1, 2019. Glenn previously served as Principal of Oak Valley Elementary School since 2015. Before becoming Principal, Glenn was a School Support Liaison for Omaha Public Schools, Assistant Principal at Creighton Preparatory School and 5th Grade teacher at Wilson Focus School all here in the Omaha community. Glenn earned his Bachelors of Arts in Black Studies and Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Nebraska Omaha and holds a Masters Degree in Educational Administration from University of Nebraska Omaha.
Kristy Kunkel began at Jesuit Academy in February of 2019. She is a Nebraska native with great appreciation for the Omaha Catholic community, growing up in the St. Margaret Mary Parish and continuing her education at Marian High School. She has an extensive background of non-profit development, with her most recent experience being at the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands as Development Coordinator. She has vast knowledge of this community, the field of organizational advancement and of Jesuit Academy.
Mike Masek is the fourth president of Jesuit Academy since established by Fr. Jim Michalski in 1996. Mike began his tenure at Jesuit Academy in October 2018. He has spent his professional career in the non-profit sector with several brief stints at local accounting firms. He has extended experience with Catholic Charities and has been in the Education sector for the past 15 years. Mike believes that education is a pathway of hope that can change the trajectory of lives.
Mr. Dedrick Bell began his tenure at Jesuit Academy in the summer of 2016. Mr. Bell oversees the Graduate Support Program and is committed to providing our alumni the tools and support they need to help prepare them for high school success, college completion and beyond. Mr. Bell is also instrumental in helping to provide a multitude of resources, services and opportunities to help our current students discover their strengths, develop their goals, and begin to see themselves as college students. Before joining the staff at Jesuit, Mr. Bell worked in various higher education roles, including Director of Student Support Services at Iowa Western, where he oversaw the federally funded program designed to increase the college retention and graduation rates of low-income and first-generation college students. He received his undergraduate degree from Idaho State University and his Master’s Degree from the University of Oklahoma.
